In its 16th edition, the Barcelona's D'A Film Festival has become in an essential springtime event for the fans of contemporary indie and auteur cinema, both local and from around the globe. Some of the films shown have already won awards at other festivals while many are getting their Spanish premiere. With close to 100 films being presented, one of the highlights of D'A is always the attendance of many of the directors whose works are being shown for round tables and Q&A sessions about their productions.

These summer nights in Barcelona fill once again with cinema through Pantalla Pavelló, a cycle projecting films directly onto the travertine of the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. 10 districts, 34 venues, five disciplines. The Barcelona Cultural District is a circuit of professional performances but also a program of artistic community project creation. Culture is brought to your doorstep but citizens themselves can also become active cultural agents. Other free of charge activities also take place at the same time, such as workshops and talks.

The brain is the theme of this film festival promoted by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and organized by Minimal Films, which has been dedicated to showing the public the reality of the brain in an approachable way since 2018. Brain Fest is a unique festival in Europe that offers audiovisual creation and scientific dissemination and contributes to increasing knowledge about the brain and advances in research in this field. The festival is divided into School Sessions, the Official Competitive Section and out-of-competition screenings.

The world of Hans Zimmer The Next Level
Hans Zimmer is an extremely innovative film score composer. He has composed famous soundtracks such as Gladiator, Inception, Top Gun, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight trilogy and the multi-award-winning The Lion King, as well as many more projects. His music is characterized by its percussion, its fusion with electronic music, its out-of-tune pianos and the use of synthesizers. With these ingredients, Zimmer's genius lets us travel back to Ancient Rome and far into the future. Now Zimmer himself has prepared a brand new selection from his diverse collection of scores under the title The Next Level, which will be presented at Palau Sant Jordi as a very special, glamorous, vital and exciting live experience.
