This sporting event combining swimming, cycling and running is undoubtedly on the rise and becoming a trend among those who are looking for a more varied exercise that provides more than just one single sport. It is no surprise that the Barcelona Triathlon attracts thousands of people to its waterfront every year.
With four distances and modalities available, participants can choose between supersprint, sprint, elite short, aquathlon and olympic, taking part as individuals, in couples (both should finish the race together) or as a relay team for olympic and sprint (with two of more members sharing the effort).
This year, in addition, the Barcelona Triathlon adapts the circuit for the youngest with the Junior Challenge, for boys and girls between 12 and 17 years old.

113th International Showjumping Competition CSIO Barcelona
This is the twelfth consecutive year that the CSIO Barcelona has welcomed this equestrian competition. It is the Grand Final of the
Longines League of Nations, and is the most important on the international equestrian calendar. A total of ten competitions will be held over four days, including the Trofeu Ciutat de Barcelona and the Copa de SM la Reina-Trofeo Segura Viudas, culminating on Sunday with the Nations Cup Grand Final. Jockeys, amazons, and horses from all over the world will turn out for this high-level show in Barcelona. This year the competition will once again include the PoloPark, a large space for family entertainment, in its commitment to bring the world of horses and the love of animals to the city. -
The Salomon Ultra Pirineu is one of the most hotly anticipated mountain competitions. It is developed in the area surrounding the Bagà sporting pavilion and includes different races: The 100 km Ultra race, the 42km Marathon, the 21km 1/2 Marathon and a night race. A competition for the bravest in an idyllic setting in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.

A new physical and mental challenge will take place on October in Calella. Ironman 70.3 Barcelona is a competition with 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km on foot in which 3400 athletes from over 80 countries will compete to reach the finish line. With routes along the Maresme Coast, Ironman 70.3 Barcelona includes two further races: Ironkids for the youngest among us and Irongirl which seeks to boost the participation of women in sports.

One of the most famous events in the city's main festival, the Festes de la Mercè, is undoubtedly the race that bears its name. This competition is notable because it is one of the first to have been organized for charity. Although it has a festive character, it is also competitive for everyone who takes part in it, and since 2010 it has been part of the BCN 10km Challenge.
The Cursa de la Mercè demostrate every year that it is more than just a race, the event is open to all members of the public and has an adapted format. A 2 km circuit where people with intellectual disabilities or reduced mobility, who are physically unable to run a distance of 10 km, will be able to participate. This year, the race includes again the family run so that both young and old can enjoy this great popular event.

Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona
Motor sports and speed lovers have an appointment to unleash their adrenaline. The Festival de la Velocidad, the Barcelona Speed Festival, is hosting an intense weekend of races. More than 200 cars and around 300 drivers will be roaring around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track. The festival includes the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, with the best GT races in the world. Once again, the Festival will be supporting the Legado María de Villota, a charity initiative to help children with neuromuscular diseases.

In this competition, athletes compete on an equal footing, as half of the categories are adaptive, i.e. they vary according to the abilities of the competitor. In addition, this interesting initiative has a social purpose, as it will serve to raise funds for charitable causes.
